Community-Led Research and Action: Students Driving Change in The Hague

April 2025

Students from The Hague University of Applied Sciences have been pioneering the first Community-Led Research and Action (CLRA) sessions, tackling pressing social issues through research and engagement.

Since December 2024, 18 students have participated in the inaugural CLRA iterations as part of the Yourope project. Working as researchers, they met bi-weekly to explore community concerns and define their focus areas. Key themes that emerged included online hate against women and discrimination faced by Dutch individuals with an Asian background.

The initiative culminated in a final exposition, where students presented their research findings, offering valuable insights and potential solutions. These sessions highlight the power of student-led inquiry in addressing societal challenges and fostering meaningful change.
